The Gastrofestival in Madrid features a range of events to celebrate the culinary arts.

Held to coincide with gourmet industry conference Madrid Fusion, the festival features a diverse programme of public events taking place across the Spanish capital.

The 2012 Gastrofestival is due to run from Monday January 23rd to Sunday February 5th, offering two weeks of exciting culinary activities and mouth-watering dishes.

Many of Madrid's top restaurants will offer set menus at special prices to encourage people to dine out, while delicatessens and food markets are set to host tasting events.

There is also the Dinner with the Stars series, which sees top international chefs prepare meals at some of the city's best eateries for EUR75 (GBP64) per head.

Other features of the festival include a celebration of wine culture and an exploration of "Gastrofashion", with designers seeking to combine the worlds of food and clothes.

In addition, the city's National Film Archive will screen a series of food-related movies and documentaries.
