The Phuket Youth Sailing Club Last Chance Regatta will see young sailors competing on December 17th and 18th 2011.

PHUKET, THAILAND, December 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Young sailing enthusiasts are being invited to travel to Phuket this December to take part in the Phuket Youth Sailing Club Last Chance Regatta.

It will be held on December 17th and 18th 2011 and is the final event in the Phuket Youth Sailing Club's regatta calendar for this year.

Open to all dinghy classes and beach cats, it will see competitors and their crews taking part in a highly competitive race from Ao Yon Beach, starting at 10:00 local time on the Saturday.

Race categories include the optimist open class, a two-day race for entrants born in 1996 or later, as well as topper open, laser standard, tasar fleet and beach cat sections.

Those wishing to take part in the regatta will be able to charter boats locally if they wish, while entry for non-club members is priced at 350 baht (GBP7.20).

This price includes the cost of entry to the sailing club's Christmas barbecue, which can be attended separately for 150 baht, with cold beers and soft drinks available.

Founded in 2008, the organisation aims to encourage local kids to sail, providing them with skills for life as well as a good time.
