The fifth annual edition of the event is taking place between October 5th and 11th at the TakeOut Comedy Club in Hong Kong, with the Hong Kong Tourism Board set to officially promote the festival for the first time this year.

US comic Butch Bradley is set to be the headline act in 2011, bringing the same brand of humour that has made him a regular on The Late Late Show, while Asian comedian Vivek Mahbubani will also be present with his Chinese one-man show.

Both stars will be hosting the comedy competition segment of the festival, which will involve contests for budding comics performing in English and Chinese.

The winner of the English-language competition will get a chance to perform at the Gotham Comedy Club, one of the top clubs in New York.

Open since February 2007, the TakeOut Comedy Club was the first full-time comedy venue in Asia and now has a sister chapter in Shenzhen, China.
